Irish Grand National Prize Money 2026: Full Breakdown Of Fairyhouse Purse

The Irish Grand National is one of the most prestiguous races in the country, but just how much Irish Grand National prize money is up for grabs at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday?

There is plenty to unpick in the Easter Monday feature. Willie Mullins will be searching for his only his third Irish Grand National winner and has some likeable types in Argento Boy and Kiss Will.

Nicky Henderson has never won a Grand National of any type but recent National Hunt Chase winner Holloway Queen could be the best chance for the visitors. Ben Pauling could also send over progressive staying chaser, The Jukebox Kid.

What Is The Irish Grand National Prize Money For 2026?

The Irish Grand National prize money makes it the richest race on the jumps calendar in Ireland. It’s an Easter Monday tradition like no other at Fairyhouse.

With the Irish Grand National prize money sitting at €500,000, it’s no wonder horses like Haiti Couleurs came over to challenge for it last year.

Gordon Elliott currently leads Willie Mullins by around €350,000 in the trainers’ championship and Monday’s Irish National could play a huge role in proceedings.

First place on Monday will win around €270,000, with the runner-up also recieving just under €100,000. Mullins is still a 1/5 chance to win the trainers’ championship but if Elliott gets a result at Fairyhouse, there might be doubts in the Closutton camp.

Elliott has 12 horses currently entered, whilst Mullins has 14. The last time Elliott won the race was in 2018 with General Principle meanwhile it’s only been three years since Mullins was successful in 2023 with I Am Maximus.

Who Won The Irish Grand National Last Year?

Last year’s Irish Grand National went the way of HAITI COULEURS, he was ridden by Sean Bowen and trained by Rebecca Curtis.

The Welsh trainer’s charge was the second favourite with an SP of 13/2 last year and it was a great ride from Bowen, who had a season to remember.

Haiti Couleurs went on to win the Welsh Grand National and will look to complete the hat-trick when he goes for the Aintree Grand National in April.

The nine-year-old was last seen pulling up in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He won the Denman Chase on his penultimate start so the form of last year’s Irish Grand National certainly stacks up.
