Seven Barrows maestro Nicky Henderson looks set to target the King George with RSA and Mildmay Chase winner Might Bite next season.
The eight-year-old son of Scorpion evidently has his quirks, highlighted by his run in the three mile G1 RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, in which after being well clear, he almost threw away victory after the final fence after hanging towards the stands’ side rail.
However, under Nico De Boinville, the imposing gelding got back up to win that race, before scoring by two lengths at Aintree last week in the G1 Betway Mildmay Chase, again beating stable companion Whisper.

That was a more assured performance from the gelding and Henderson is now keen to target the major staying chasing Grade One honours next year with Might Bite, who is a general 4/1 shot for the three mile event at Kempton Park.
Henderson, speaking after the gelding’s Aintree victory, said:
That’s him done for the year. I’d think the King George is the obvious place to be thinking about.
He is good on these tracks but he proved he was good in Cheltenham as well. He can go left, right and he can jump the last properly when he wants to.
