Bow Echo Heads 2000 Guineas Betting Odds Market For George Boughey
Unbeaten Night Of Thunder colt BOW ECHO is the current 2000 Guineas favourite and will be looking to give George Boughey his biggest win yet as a trainer.
He won the 1000 Guineas with Cachet in 2022, but is yet to land the colt’s equivalent and has a favourite’s chance this season.
Bow Echo made a huge impression on debut last August when winning a Newbury maiden by four-and-a-half lengths.
He would then take on Publish at Haydock and get the better of him in the listed Ascendant Stakes.
And Bow Echo finished his season strongly to remain unbeaten, landing the Group 2 Royal Lodge at Newmarket.
With that Newmarket course and distance experience under his belt, he’s deservedly the 2000 Guineas favourite. You’ll be able to watch it all unfold on the ITV Racing Schedule on Saturday 2nd May.

Godolphin Bidding For Third 2000 Guineas In A Row
Powerhouse owners Godolphin have won the last two renewals of the 2000 Guineas and are actually searching for a third win in four years.
Last year’s winner was Ruling Court, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to win again before tragically losing his life due to infection as a three-year-old.
The year before that, Notable Speech was successful and he’s still in training as a five-year-old with plenty of Group 1 targets ahead of him.
And now Charlie Appleby and Godolphin are searching for a third 2000 Guineas win in a row.
Distant Storm, who was third in last season’s Dewhurst has been well supported in the ante-post market and has to hold solid claims. The son of Night Of Thunder looks to be the biggest danger to favourite Bow Echo.
Aidan O’Brien’s Number One 2000 Guineas Hope Is Gstaad
Aidan O’Brien has not won the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket since 2019, with his horses underperforming in the race in recent years.
He had just one horse in the race last year – Expanded, who was sent off 5/1 but ran no race, finishing ninth.
2024 saw O’Brien head into the Guineas with hot favourite City Of Troy. He was sent off 4/6 but completely bombed out, eventually finishing ninth too. However, the son of Justify bounced back and won the Derby.
He sends Gstaad there this year, but O’Brien’s UK form is a worry in recent weeks.

How Many Times Has Aidan O’Brien Won The 2000 Guineas?
Despite recently falling short, O’Brien is still the leading trainer in the 2000 Guineas with 10 wins.
Gstaad could give him an 11th win this season.
