13:50: Coral Chesterfield Cup Handicap 1m2f (ITV)
QUAI BE BETHUNE (e/w) looks interesting here after a few excuses in his last two races.
Two runs back at Epsom was his first run back for while so would have needed it. But still travelled well into the race and just ran out of fitness.
Then last time at York in the John Smith’s Cup, was going to win – but got badly checked up the inside rail and would have certainly finished better than the 13th (of 22).
The handicapper has dropped last year’s Royal Ascot winner 3lbs for that and is now only 4lbs higher than his Golden Gates win last summer.
With 14 of the last 20 winners coming from stalls 9+, then gate 12 is fine too.
Of the rest, Wave Rider brings some useful Bahrain form to the table, has had a wind op since his last run and also been freshened up. He can go well under Oisin Murphy too.
While two-time course winner Rathgar is also noted having beaten Sallaal earlier this season and that horse franking the form a few times since.

14:25: Coral Vintage Stakes (Group 2) 7f (ITV)
HAFFNER is the call here to give Aidan O’Brien his fourth Vintage Stakes win in the last 14 years.
This Justify colt was impressive in winning a decent-looking Newmarket Maiden last time, with some well-touted runners in-behind, including Subscription (4th).
That form has also since been given a shot in the arm with the 3rd Velociraptor winning at Chester last Saturday.
Godolphin’s Al Hudaiba looks the obvious danger after a gutsy win in the Superlative Stakes at HQ last time.
But looked to have a hard race that day and also seemed to need every yard of that 7f trip. I’m just so sure the quicker Goodwood track will help him.
I’ll take Ryan Moore and Haffner to dictate the pace from the front and give the Godolphin runner too much to do.
Of the rest, the Paul Cole won this race three times as a trainer and his son Oliver has a fair chance of adding to the family roll of honour with Dr Rascal.
This 2yold colt has impressed in winning his first two starts and despite this being a step up in grade certainly looks an above average juvenile.

15:00: HKJC World Pool Lennox Stakes (Group 2) 7f (ITV)
QIRAT loves it here at Goodwood and looks the value call over the clear top-rated Lake Forest.
The pick was the shock 150/1 winner of the Sussex Stakes last season and could also end up there on Wednesday too – with both Lake Forest and him entered for that.
He heads here off a win too after winning at York last time, which also came in the first-time tongue-tie, which he sports again here.
Lake Forest was runner-up to Witness Stand last year in this, when given too much to do. He’s more likely to be ridden closer this time (if able to keep up), but at Evs for a horse that’s only 1-9 in recent races, then I’m not sure he’s much value.
Therefore, I’d rather take a swing at Qirat to carry on his love affair with Goodwood and give Colin Keane his first win on this Juddmonte horse.

15:35: Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup Stakes (Group 1) 2m (ITV)
+ is the new kid on the block in these staying cup races from last season and at the age of 4 he should be winning many more.
He took this 12 months ago too aged just 3 and has since sky rocketed his prize money haul to £1.2m with four more wins – including the St Leger and Ascot Gold Cup last month.
That recent win came in a titanic battle with Trawlerman, who he takes on again here.
Trawlerman will be fitter this time, with that last run coming off a break. But he’s aged 8 now and since 1962m only three horses aged 8+ have landed this prize.
If you do fancy him though, you’ll be pleased to know the last 8+ winner was another Godolphin horse Cavalryman in 2014.
He’s also 1-1 here at Goodwood after winning a handicap rated 97 here in 2022 – so this will be his first run in the race.
2025 St Leger silver Rahiebb, Amiloc and Lazy Griff can fight it out for thrid.

16:10: Coral Rewards Shaker Handicap 5f (ITV)
The final ITV Racing contest at Goodwood is a super-tricky 5f handicap – where cases can be made for plenty.
The Richard Spencer team are mob-handed with five runners, Twilight Calls, Run Boy Run, Rapper’s Delight, The Man and Candy.
Of that bunch, I think the George Wood-ridden RAPPER’S DELIGHT is noted after some good seconds recently – and is a pound better off with his silver behind Nanna’s Sparkle last time.
Wood has been riding Run Boy Run a fair bit this season, so the fact he’s picking Rapper’s Delight catches the eye.
We’ve also got the 2024 winner TATTERSALLS in the race and he’s back rated only 2lbs worse off – he’s shortlisted too.
While I also think SEVEN QUESTIONS is respected under Jamie Spencer.
He’s a proven course winner here and ran okay (11th) in the Stewards’ Cup here in the past off 100 and is now rated 88.
