Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Sunday 19th July, 2026)
3:00 Ayr IMPERIAL GUARD (NAP)
This Michael Dods runner bounced back to winning ways in stylish fashion here last time and it’s hard to see beyond him following up.
Yes, he’s up 5lbs for that, but is still very well-treated on old form – having been rated in the 80’s this time last season (now 65).
Danny Tudhope takes over in the saddle and he likes this race too – winning 2 of the last 5.
Imperial Guard can be ‘majestic’ again today.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Saturday 18th July, 2026)
1:42 Cartmel: GAMBINO
Willie Mullins sends over a rare runner to Cartmel today (Speed For Fun) – with Patrick Mullins riding.
But they are running into a Dan Skelton horse that is rated 83 on the flat and has already run well over hurdles – albeit just once.
That was a fair third to the useful Kocktail Brut at Newbury back in March, while before that ran in that Southwell flat race (3rd) that Constitution Hill won easily.
He’s had a wind op since that last run and with proven speed on the level, but just have too much toe for the Mullins runner around the tight turns of Cartmel.
6:30 Beverley KENTUCKY RAIN
A lovely 2nd on debut at Goodwood in May and was then highly-tried at Ascot in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes (16th).
That Ascot form has been franked since though so coming 7 1/4 lengths off the winner is still by far the best form on show here.
It was will be a big shock if Kentucky Rain isn’t making a ‘slash’ today and breaking her duck.
6:50 Windsor LAND D’OR (NB)
A horse I put up last time and we got mugged on the line up at Thirsk.
That came over a mile, but has looked as if he wants further so this step up to 1m2f is a big plus.
Before that ran second to the promising royal runner Portcullis at York and with Oisin Murphy taking over can use his experience of the Godolphin newcomer – Castlemont.
Land D’Or is taken to stand his ‘ground’ here and take this for the Andrew Balding team.
