Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Friday 17th July, 2026)
5:20 Newbury GREEN SKY (NAP)
The Oisin Murphy and Billy Loughnane rides at the moment are always in focus, with the pair locked in a jockeys’ title race.
But I think Murphy has a top chance of grabbing a win today on this in-form Rod Millman 6yold.
She’s 2-2 since joining Millman from David Pipe and is still 7lbs well-in with this quick run again.
The longer trip (1m5f from 1m4f) could also eke out more and so in her current mood looks worth sticking with over the handicap debutant Koala Rose.
Another win for Green Sky looks to be on the horizon.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Friday 17th July, 2026)
2:52 Nottingham TAWAKAL
Of course a lot of unknowns here with this Crisford runner on the track for the first time.
But he’s got a €325k price on his head and it’s interesting this is James Doyle’s only ride on the day.
The yard also won this race with the useful Vandeek not so long ago, so clearly have it on their radar.
Gold Reef City probably sets the standard after a 7th on debut in a fair maiden last time, but I’ll take a chance on Tawakal living up to his billing and purchase fee.
7:50 Hamilton SUPERIOR CHOICE
The Gosden yard won this decent Listed prize last year and I think they can again.
I was taken by the way this Dubawi colt won the last day at HQ and the second (Zurna) has franked the form to win since.
Shane Foley, who rode him last time, keeps the ride and this 1.1 million gns yearling is the call to add another £45k to his prize pot here and move onto bigger things.
Prizeland is a horse I like too, while Plaid and Mr Colonel are respected too, but this Gosden horse is the ‘Superior Choice’ for me.
7:59 Down Royal TEOLOGIA
This Joseph O’Brien runner has won her last two in good fashion and it’s hard to oppose her landing the three-timer.
The last was a smooth win here at Down Royal, so we know the track is fine and despite being up 13lbs here should be continuing her winning run.
Epsom Oaks-winning rider Dylan Browne McMonagle takes over in the plate.
