Cieren Fallon has failed to overturn his three-day Royal Ascot suspension after a British Horseracing Authority disciplinary panel dismissed his appeal on Monday.
The 27-year-old jockey had challenged the ban picked up for his ride on Ranga Tang in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot, but the panel ruled against him despite evidence in support from James Doyle, one of the riders said to have suffered interference in the incident.
Fallon’s suspension is a sharp interruption to a campaign in which he has been trying to build momentum across the summer Flat programme.
The decision means the original penalty stands, leaving him without rides for the relevant three-day window unless there is any further procedural route available.
Fallon Loses Royal Ascot Appeal
The case also keeps Royal Ascot’s disciplinary fallout in focus after a meeting that produced several high-profile riding controversies. According to the Racing Post report on Fallon’s appeal, the disciplinary panel dismissed the challenge on Monday morning.
For Fallon, the immediate consequence is practical rather than reputational: losing three days at a key stage of the season matters in a weighing room where opportunities can move quickly.
For the BHA, the outcome reinforces that Royal Ascot interference penalties will not be softened simply because a fellow rider offers supportive evidence after the event.
