Amelia Earhart drifts on Oaks day, but Ryan Moore says she’ll handle conditions

Oaks ante post favourite Amelia Earhart has been easy to back on the morning of the big race at Epsom, but jockey Ryan Moore seems to think she’ll handle conditions perfectly.

Amelia Earhart Easy To Back For Oaks

There’s no doubt that Amelia Earhart is one of the more solid Epsom Oaks runners, but she’s been uneasy in the market on the morning of the big race.

Earlier in the week, she was as short as 7/4 in the ante post market but now at the time of writing can be backed at around 11/4 and 5/2.

But, at the same time the market moves are likely just the true price firming up.

There has been support for both Legacy Link and Thundering On, so O’Brien’s horse’s price edging out is possibly something to do with that.

The Ryan Moore rides on Oaks day see him get the leg up on the Ballydoyle favourite and he was speaking on his World Pool blog.

She started this season with a nice win in the Cheshire Oaks, a race we’ve used in the past for the likes of Minnie Hauk en route to Epsom, so hopefully it will prove to be a good prep again.

She’s a big filly that will get the trip well and I don’t think the rain will be an issue. I’m looking forward to a good run from her.

Legacy Link looks as if she will be suited by the step up in trip and is one to take seriously.

Thundering On, of Joseph O’Brien’s was a good winner of the Salsabel Stakes at Navan, she looks an interesting filly with a good turn of foot, and I can see her also being a threat.
