Aidan O’Brien Searching For 12th Irish 1000 Guineas Winner

Much to no surprise, Aidan O’Brien has a smashing record in the Irish 1000 Guineas and could win his TWELTH this weekend.

He’s already on 12 wins in the Irish 2000 Guineas, so will be looking to reach that milestone for the fillies one a day later.

The Ballydoyle maestro first won this race in 1997 with Classic Park and has enjoyed plenty of success ever since.

He also won the 2025 renewal with Lake Victoria, who would not race again as a three-year-old despite that emphatic 1000 Guineas performance.

And there’s a great chance that he wins it again this year as two of his fillies challenge for favouritism at the top of the market.

PRECISE is the current second favourite, despite only managing 7th of 19 in the English 1000 Guineas.

That defeat at Newmarket was only the second time she has lost and ended a streak of four straight wins, which included two Group 1s.

But she’s the type of horse to bounce back and this daughter of Starspangledbanner has to be heavily respected.

As for her main market rival TRUE LOVE, she was a great winner of the English 1000 Guineas and could be one of a few O’Brien horses to complete the double.

Winter and Hermosa completed the famous double in 2017 and 2019 and it’s possible True Love could do the same, she’s that good.

She made it five wins from nine career starts at Newmarket and the world is at her feet as a three-year-old.

True Love will be looking to become only the fifth Guineas double winner since 2004.
