2:55 York: TROPICAL STORM / DARK THIRTY
A few fancies here in this very open 6f handicap at York today.
Tropical Storm was a Listed winner at this meeting last season over 5f and having run well in his two returns runs this season is interesting.
Yes, need to prove himself over this longer trip, but the first time visor will help and, to be fair, he’s only tried 6f twice.
Then Dark Thirty is also worth an interest after running second in this race to another runner back today – Rousing Encore.
But he’s back rated a pound lower and will be fitter than most after two runs back this season at Donny and HQ.
Hopefully we’ll see a ‘Dark’ ‘Storm’ here.
3:08 Perth: MANOWEST
Trainer Olly Murphy won this race last season and it’s hard to knock his decent 35% SR here at Perth.
He tries to add to that today with this 8yold, who wasn’t beaten far the last day (3rd) at Bangor.
Dropped a pound for that and Sean Bowen, who has won on the horse before, takes over in the plate are plusses.
I’ll take Manowest to go north.
5:15 York: GREAT BEDWYN
This Richard Hannon runner took this race 12 months ago off a mark of 87 and is back rated 83.
He’s fit from the AW too, but has also been freshened up with 40 days off since running at Lingers at the start of April.
Sean Levey rides and in race conditions we know suit another ‘great’ effort looks on the cards.
