Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
6:30 Wolverhampton CYDNEY SWEENIE (NAP)
This 2yold filly from the Jack Morland yard caught my eye on debut at Pontefract last month.
That came over 5f, but she ran on well at the finish to suggest the step up in trip to 6f will be a plus.
That form has been franked since with the third winning and a few others in behind running well too.
No reason why the switch to the AW won’t suit and Oisin Murphy draws the eye being booked to ride.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
3:30 Catterick LARAVIE (NB)
Won well at Salisbury the last day – winning by 3 1/2 lengths – and is only up 3lbs for that win.
Stepping up from 1m6f to 2m should be fine having won over 2m4f over hurdles.
That was also only her first run on the grass on the flat.
Hollie Doyle takes over in the plate to ride for the first time and should be hard to beat.
5:17 Southwell LOUIS VERON
Dan Skelton still has his horses in good order and they look to have another obvious chance here.
This 5yold was last seen running a neck second at Chepstow in October and has been kept off the track since with the better ground likely the suit.
The form of that last run has been franked many times since too – notably with the 3rd Matty’s Getaway, who has won three times since.
Veron can hit the back of the net here.
8:00 Wolverhampton CELESTRA
It seem Oisin Murphy has some good rides at Wolves tonight and this looks to be another.
This Kingman filly was touched off by a head last time as 1/2 favourite at Beverley but that was her first start for 9 months and will be better for it.
The first two pulled well clear of the rest and the slightly longer trip here will be more up her street.
With her main rival She Commands back from 213 days out, Celestra should have the experience edge here.
