Andy Newton’s Lay Of The Day Horse Racing Tip: Monday 11th May 2026

7:17 Windsor: OVER SPICED

Won last time out at Bath – but only just got home by a neck that day.

Up 5lbs here, so more needed and is yet to score off a mark in the 70’s.

I’d also be a tad worried about the Grace Harris SR here at Windsor, as she’s only 1-29 with her recent runners.

I’ll take something else to be ‘too hot’ for Over Spiced here.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

Worth Knowing Today – Horse Racing Stats and Fun Facts

6:37 Killarney – Trainer Willie Mullins has won 3 of the last 4
Trainer John McConnell has a 40% SR at Wolverhampton

15:12 Southwell: Doc McCoy

“Doc McCoy didn’t take to fences when novice chasing but was well handicapped back over hurdles and won four times over the spring/ summer last year. He clipped heals and unseated on his seasonal debut, but that run will have brought him on. He has been jumping well over fences at home, and as he is 10lb better off over fences than hurdles, it was worth going chasing again. Can’t see why he won’t jump well here, and if he does…then he should win this. “ JAMIE SNOWDEN
