Andy Newton’s Each-Way Horse Racing Betting Tips Sunday 19th April 2026
Tramore 3:18: MR MASTER MAC
Don’t tell jack will be popular, but the slightly better value can come from this Mark Fahey runner. A winner last time out at Sligo (NH Flat race), on what was only his second career run.
That came back in August and is over a hurdle for the first time today but sure to been well-schooled. While it’s interesting the yard have a 3-8 (38%) SR with their hurdlers at this venue.
Tramore 4:28: ROCHESTOWN
Lost his way in recent runs, but has won this race for the last TWO runnings – so has to be considered back here.
Is rated only 3lbs higher than 12 months ago and overall has a top record here at Tramore. With form figures that read 2-1-1-3-1-1 from his recent runs at the track.
Phillip Enright, who won on the horse last year, is back in the saddle too.
Plumpton 5:12: HECOULDBETHEONE
Another horse that won the same race last season, winning this pot by 2 lengths. Is back rated 5lbs lower too and will have the services of Sean Bowen in the saddle.
The better ground is find too and he hinted at a return to form last time Stratford with a fair 2nd. Hecouldbetheone, could live up to his name here.
Curragh 5:20: HAMBLETON
The David Marnane yard are in good order at the moment, coming into today with a 33% SR in the last 14 days. They run this Ghaiyyath gelding here, who is still looking for his first run. But has only raced four times.
Will be fitter for a recent 4th at Cork after 4 months off and that was his first start after being gelded too.
Today’s Horse Racing ‘Inside Info’
- Curragh 3:35: Trainer Aidan O’Brien (4) and Joseph O’Brien (2) have won 6 of the last 8
- Plumpton 2:52: The Moore yard have won 3 of the last 6 – Shutthefrontdoor
- Curragh 2:25: Joseph O’Brien has won the last two – Santerno
- Trainer Dan Skelton is only 4-47 with his runners at Plumpton
- The Moore yard boast a 31% chase record with their runners at Plumpton
Today’s Longest Travelling ‘Horses’
- Stratford 2:33: EAST EAGLE (165 miles), Mike Sowersby
- Stratford 3:08: MAX OF STARS (165 miles), Ollie Pears
Today’s Lay of The Day
- Stratford 4:53: PURE CARBON
Trappy little race with only four runners but they all have a chance including this Harry Derham runner, who could go off favourite.
He’s won two of his six starts over fences but the last came off a mark 2lbs lower and he’s failed twice since off today’s mark.
Trip and ground are fine, but the Paul Nicholls yard have a 33% SR here and also run Bond Broker, while the Fergal O’Brien team are in good form and send Mister Cessna to post.
Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).
Today’s runners, that won the same race last year
- Curragh 1:50: CUBAN GREY
- Curragh 4:25: ROCHESTOWN (has won the last 2)
- Plumpton 5:12: HECOULDBETHEONE
