Fairyhouse Horse Racing Tips On Easter Sunday 🐣
2:40 – Donohue Marquees Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) (4yo+) 2m RTE2
This race has been the Willie Mullins show in recent times – with seven wins since 2017 – and he looks to have every chance of adding to that with the exciting LEADER D’ALLIER.
He missed the Cheltenham Festival late on, but despite that frustration will, therefore head here fresher than most – with his last race at the end of January.
That was a facile win at Punchestown on only his second start over hurdles, while the second Straight John has since franked the form by winning next time too.
Paul Townend has picked him over the other Mullins runner Too Bossy For Us, who was a fair 6th in the Supreme last time out.
While of the others the consistent Blake in the first-time cheekpieces looks sure to run his race again for the Noel Meade camp.

3:15 – Paddy Kehoe Suspended Ceilings Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) (4yo+) 2m4f RTE2
All eye here will be on the Barry McConnell-trained Ksar Fatal (formerly Willie Mullins) after an easy win last time out at Punchestown.
Especially as the 2nd (Dani Donadoni) and the 4th (Pat’s Legacy) have won since.
But – shock horror – this has been another good race for the Willie Mullins yard, with 3 wins in the last 4 – including taking the pot with the likes of Grand National winner Nick Rockett and Captain Cody in the past.
Mullins has five runners and with Paul Townend riding He’s On Fire, this Ricci horse looks one of their main players.
But he’s also got a JP McManus runner – LOVE ME TENDER, with Mark Walsh in the plate.
He was a fair third at Leopardstown to Skylight Hustle over Christmas and that form looks okay with the 5th The Passing Wife going onto run well in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham.
Since then, he’s been third to Doctor Steinberg at the DRF over 2m6f on heavy ground, so I just think the drop back slightly in trip here will suit (2m4f).
Hes does have to give 3lbs away to the rest, having won a Grade 3 earlier this season, but is another that missed Cheltenham so heads here fresher than most.

🥉LAZARE DE STAR
3:50 – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+) 2m4f RTE2
No Bambino Fever here as the Mares Novices’ Hurdle flop was pulled out at the final declaration stage.
This means the task for the others is made easier and many will focus on the second in that Cheltenham race Oldschool Outlaw.
But my concern for her is that he did seem to have quite a hard race that day and with Fever underperforming, it was still a slight disappointment that this JP McManus horse couldn’t win.
The form of the Gordon Elliott yard at the moment is only average – so I’d rather side with the likely improver CHARME DE FAUST.
This Willie Mullins horse was a running-on fourth in the Mares Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham, only beaten 3 1/2 lengths – and with that just her third career run there should be more to come.
The longer trip can also eke out more, and Paul Townend has picked her over the other Mullins runners in the field.
Of the rest, Zanoosh has done brilliantly this season to win her last four and enters the mix – with the more rain the better for her.

🥉OLDSCHOOL OUTLAW
5:00 – WillowWarm Gold Cup (Grade 1) (5yo+) 2m4f RTE2
Yet another race the Willie Mullins yard love to win – taking the prize six times since 2018 – including with his two-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs in 2022.
He’s got several chances again, with the likes of Predators Gold and Jimmy Du Seuil, who could bounce back now returning to Fairyhouse.
While Sixmilebridge is a big raider from the UK, with the Fergal O’Brien runner heading here 3-3 over fences after a good win in the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase last time.
But KAPPA JY PYK is the other big player for Mullins and Paul Townend – coming here 2-2 over fences after nice wins at Thurles and Punchestown.
The last was a good win over Jacob’s Ladder – form that’s been franked since and having missed Cheltenham is another that heads to Fairyhouse fresh (84 days off).
This will require more, but Kappa Jy Pyke seems to be making into a better chaser than hurdler and is the call to remain unbeaten over the bigger obstacles.

🥉SIXMILEBRIDGE
