2000 Guineas favourite Albert Einstein could make his long-awaited comeback at the Curragh on Saturday ahead of Newmarket at the start of May.
Albert Einstein Could Have 2000 Guineas Prep At Curragh
Whilst no decision has been made just yet, Aiden O’Brien has given Albert Einstein an entry this weekend in what would be a prep run for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
During a stable media day last week, O’Brien nominated Albert Einstein as his Guineas number one and he could return in the listed Gladness Stakes on Saturday.
“From the Guineas horses, the number one at the moment is Albert, he’s done very well phsyically. He’s big and powerful and very rapid.
“Speed-wise, I don’t think we’ve had a horse like him. I don’t know whether he’ll stay, but we’ll learn on the day.”

Gladness Stakes Will Be A Stepping Stone To Newmarket
A lot of O’Brien’s horses for this season will head to the Curragh on Sunday for some work, but there’s a strong chance Albert Einstein will race there instead 24 hours earlier.
He said to the Nick Luck Daily Podcast:
“The Gladness is there and Albert obviously hasn’t run. He’s not like the typical one of ours to go into the Guineas first time out because he only had a couple of runs at the very start of last year and it’s a long time since he last ran.”
The three-year-old is unbeaten after two starts but will potentially run for the first time in 307 days on Saturday.
After two impressive wins last May, the son of Wootton Bassett had a setback, ruling him out for the season.
He was in the ‘could be anything’ category as a two-year-old and he remains in that basket ahead of his classic season.
