With the end of the British jumps season right around the corner, see all of the Gordon Elliott Grand National runners ahead of the big Aintree race.

Four Gordon Elliott Grand National Runners Removed From Race

The most recent Grand National scratching stage saw Gordon Elliott remove four horses from the race, whittling his runners down to seven.

Dublin Racing Festival runner-up Western Fold, Better Days Ahead, Croke Park and Search For Glory were all pulled out.

Interestingly, Gerri Colombe remains in contention.

All of the action at Aintree including the 2026 Grand National will be live on ITV Racing on Saturday 11th April.

Gordon Elliott Was The Youngest Trainer To Win A Grand National At 29

Aged just 29, Elliott forced his way into the record books as the youngest trainer in history to win a Grand National back in 2007.

Silver Birch was his first ever entry in the race and against all the odds, won the race as a 33/1 outsider.

Infact, Elliott had not even trained a winner in Ireland before winning the Grand National. The rest is history and the County Meath-based trainer has gone on to win the race a further two times.

Grand National winners don’t come around too often, and to win the race on your first attempt is an exceptional achievement.

Elliott Trained Tiger Roll To Back-To-Back Grand National Wins

Five-time Cheltenham Festival winner Tiger Roll became the first horse since Red Rum in 1973 and 1974 to win back-to-back Grand Nationals. He was ridden by Davy Russell both times.

He was a special horse and undoubtedly one of the best Elliott has ever trained. Not many Triumh Hurdle winners would look like being a two-time Grand National winner, but Tiger Roll was different.

Tiger Roll’s first win in the National was tremendous as he just held on to see off the Willie Mullins-trained Pleasant Company by a head. He was 10/1 that day.

He then followed up the next year, beating Magic Of Light by just short of three lengths as one of the most popular Grand National favourites (4/1) in recent time.

Gordon Elliott Grand National Runners Guaranteed A Run

With four horses scratched at the last stage, Elliott has seven horses left in the 2026 Grand National. Five are defintiely guaratneed to get in.

Stellar Story

  • Age: 9
  • Weight: 10-11
  • Owner: Gigginstown House Stud
  • Grand National Odds: 25/1

Stellar Story has been running in plenty of top races this season, most recently in one of the most recoginsed Grand National Trials in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse.

Solid stayer but prefers soft or heavy ground and is unlikely to get that at Aintree. Won the 2023 Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival.

Favori De Champdou

  • Age: 11
  • Weight: 11-1
  • Owner: Gigginstown House Stud
  • Grand National Odds: 33/1

Well fancied for the Cross Country at Cheltenham on his last start, Favori De Champdou failed to land the money and was beaten by Final Orders.

Has ran well for most of this season, landed the Listed 3m5 1/2f Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. Stays all day and isn’t without chance given his busy season doesn’t catch up to him.

Gerri Colombe

  • Age: 10
  • Weight: 11-10
  • Owner: Robcour
  • Grand National Odds: 33/1

A surprising route for this 2024 Gold Cup runner-up, but Gerri Colombe looks all systems go for the Grand National.

Classy on his day, but has had problems in the last couple of years, although, he looked back to his best when winning at Down Royal in mid-March.

Running into the places doesn’t look impossible if he takes to the National fences and he’s a two-time Aintree Grand National meeting winner. Won the 2023 Mildmay Novices’ Chase and the 2024 Aintree Bowl.

Three Card Brag

  • Age: 9
  • Weight: 11-0
  • Owner: McNeill Family/Patrick & Scott Bryceland
  • Grand National Odds: 50/1

Finished 11th in last year’s renewal and with that experience Three Card Brag should run well.

He was favourite for February’s Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse but was well beaten by 59 lengths. Enjoyed a terrific season up until then, winning a big field handicap at Cheltenham and finsihing second in the Coral Gold Cup.

Any of the Gordon Elliott Grand National runners have to be respected and he could outrun his odds.

Firefox

  • Age: 8
  • Weight: 11-4
  • Owner: Bective Stud
  • Grand National Odds: 66/1

Firefox was last seen finishing 6th in the Cheltenham Gold Cup behind Gaelic Warrior and is a surprising addition to Elliott’s team in the Grand National.

Jumping has let him down at times this season and the National fences take no prisoners. Hard to see him featuring but he is one of the higher rated horses in the field.

Might be vulnerable to others including the JP McManus Grand National runners.
