- 2:25 Uttoxeter: A PAI DE NOM (NAP)

Uttoxeter Midlands Grand National trends and stats ahead of today’s big race
Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip 🥇
2:25 Uttoxeter: A PAI DE NOM (NAP)
Bypassed Cheltenham to run here and I think the hint should be taken.
This improving Skelton horse heads here having won three of his last four – with his only defeat on quicker ground at Kempton in the Lanzarote.
Up just 5lbs for his last win at Newbury looks fair and in this better race gets in carrying 9lbs less in racing weight.
A Pai De Nom, means ‘ no name’, but this Skelton runner is certainly making a name for himself!
Horse Racing NB Tip 🏇
4:00 Newcastle: THE HATCHET (NB)
Travelled well the last day, but just got run out of things in the closing stages to finish 2nd here.
Up 2lbs for that makes life a bit harder but actually carries 4lbs less in racing weight today.
While the third last time – a horse called Saracen Beau – has come out and won since to frank the form.
I’ll take The Hatchet to cut down his rivals here.
Other Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips Today🏇
3:18 Kempton: CALIFET EN VOL
The Nicky Henderson yard had a top Festival and their horses remain in good form.
Got off the mark over fences at Kempton last time with a bit to spare and so a 5lbs rise for that success doesn’t look too harsh.
3:53 Kempton: SOOMAROY
Another Hendo horse that looks to have a good chance today is this 5yold.
Ran a bit green the last day at Hereford, but still got the job done.
Still unexposed and the Seven Barrows camp seem to like this race – winning 3 of the last 9.
Oh and Nico rode them all.
Bonus Each-Way Betting Tips🏇
1:50 Uttoxeter: IT’S TOP
Ran second to Sober Glory two runs ago at Newbury and has since improved to win at Carlisle last month.
It goes without saying that form looks solid after Sober Glory ran a blinder in the Supreme on Tuesday at Cheltenham.
Into a handicap for the first time today, but looks on a fair mark of 116 and looks the sort that could improve for stepping up in trip.
2:40 Kempton: TURNDLIGHTSDOWNLOW
Having a good season with two wins and two seconds in recent runs.
The last being a solid second at Wincanton in January over 3m – but the drop back in trip today looks a good move.
Having won over this CD back in November.
Has had 58 days to freshen up and the Martin Keighley yard do well at Kempton with their hurdlers with a 40% SR.
3:00 Uttoxeter: GRAND ALBERT
The Emmet Mullins runner J’Arrive De L’Est will be popular here, but this race has only seen three winning favourites in the last 22.
So a chance is taken on this McCain entry, who ticks a lot of the trends in this race – including age and weight.
He’s only had 6 runs over fences so will have more to come and having stayed on okay in the Grand National Trial at Haydock last time, this longer trip can eke out more.
4:28 Kempton: HURRICANE BAY
Hardly inspiring form figures in his last runs – being pulled up the last twice.
But as a result is down 2lbs more from last time and is also eased a tad in grade.
Is back up in trip too (3m) and connections try the first-time blinkers today.
The added plus is the SR of the Lucy Wadham yard here over fences (3-5, 60%).
Worth Knowing Today 🤔
🏇6pm Southwell – Trainer Scott Dixon has won the last two runnings – Mereside Madness
🏇2:35 Fontwell – Trainer Paul Nicholls has a 55% SR (11-20) with his chasers at the track – Mon Champion
🏇1:50 Uttoxeter – Trainer Dan Skelton has won the last two runnings – West To The Bridge
🏇2:53 Kempton – Trainer Nicky Henderson has won 3 of the last 9 – Soomaroy
🏇5:03 Kempton – Trainer Alan King has won 2 of the last 4 – Stars Aligning
🏇4:55 Fontwell – The Moore yard are 3-6 (50%) with their NH Flat runners at this track – Lightsoutandaway
Today’s Longest Travellers 🗺️
🏇2:40 Kempton: MOON MISSION (377 miles), PJ Rothwell
Andy Newton’s LAY OF THE DAY ⛔🏇❌
🏇8:30 Southwell: MASTER OF MY FATE
A winner last time out here but is up 4lbs for that and this takes him to a mark of 84.
He’s won 7 times in this career (5 on the AW), but all these wins came off lower ratings.
Plus meets the second last time Sports Coach on 3lbs worse terms for just 1/2 a length.
Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?
The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?
In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.
The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.
You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?
It’s similar to a NAP — but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.
In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.
How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?
A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing — and for good reason.
It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet. The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:
- 6 Doubles
- 4 Trebles
- 4 Singles
- 1 Four-Fold
That’s where the 15 comes from.
A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total — 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.
If you fancy today’s selections, you can use our Lucky 15 horse racing tips above to build this type of wager.
How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?
Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.
So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.
If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.
How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?
To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.
Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.
Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.
Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.
That’s it — you’re in.
