Run over 4m2f, the Midlands National is one of the longest races in Britain where 25 fences are jumped. Everyone might be hungover from Cheltenham and looking for a big race to bet on this Saturday so see our Midlands Grand National tips below.

Midlands Grand National Tips & 1-2-3 Selections
It’s one of the most competitive races on the calendar usually and this year is no different and it could be worth looking beyond the favourite J’Arrive De L’Est who to me looks vulnerable.
He may have James Bowen aboard, who had his first two Cheltenham Festival winners this week but it might pay to look elsehwhere.
The Emmet Mullins-trained horse is a French import only making a third start for his new trainer. Since joining Mullins he has raced twice at the Cross Country track at Cheltenham, finishing second both times after being heavily backed.
Back Aworkinprogress @ 7/1 EW
I’m going to take him on with AWORKINPROGRESS owned by JP McManus and trained by Nick Gifford.
This horse jumped well stepping up to 3m5f at Lingfield last time out to win the Surrey National and going even further looks a bonus considering he needed every yard of that last time out.
Jockey James Davies gets on every so well with Aworkinprogress too and the horse has had a nice break since that success at Lingfield. A 5lb rise doesn’t look overly harsh either and he’s just one of three in the field to have winning form at Uttoxeter as well.
Having won six races from seven starts over fences he’s undoubtedly the most unexposed in the field so he looks to be a good bet in this.
Neo King is an out and out stayer and ran very well in the Grand National trial at Haydock last time and should be involved at the finish.
Meanwhile Deafening Silence has also ran well in defeat so far this season and going up in trip could bring about further improvement. Harry and Dan Skelton have to be respected whatever they run in big Saturday handicaps so he can run for us too.
