  • 2:40 Cheltenham: WODHOOH (NAP)
  • 4:00 Cheltenham: FACT TO FILE
  • 5:30 Chelmsford: RESPOND

Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip 🥇

2:40 Cheltenham: WODHOOH (NAP)

Classy mare and with no Lossiemouth to deal with this race looks hers to lose.

Winning machine of a horse with 9 successes from her 10 starts over hurdles and was Gordon Elliott’s only winner at the Festival last season.

Wodhooh looks solid here folks.

Horse Racing NB Tip 🏇

1:20 Cheltenham: BAMBINO FEVER (NB)

Another promising mare that landed the Champion Bumper last season.

Was beaten by Outschool Outlaw on hurdles debut but that horse was fitter that day with a more recent run.

Has since won easily at Fairyhouse and is the call to give Mullins his first win in the race since 2020.

Other Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips Today🏇

4:00 Cheltenham: FACT TO FILE

The Irish Gold Cup winner looks the one to beat again in the Ryanair Chase – the race he won at the Festival with ease last season.

Yes, this year’s renewal looks harder with the likes of Jonbon, Impaire Et Passe, Heart Wood and Banbridge – but FTF is still rated 7lbs clear of the next best.

5:30 Chelmsford: RESPOND

The Andrew Balding team continue to be in good form and this 4yold looks to have found a good race to break his AW duck in.

Was a close second at Lingers last month in a better race than today’s and is eased in class a tad today.

Oisin Murphy rides.

Bonus Each-Way Betting Tips🏇

2:00 Cheltenham: SIXMILEBRIDGE

So far this week a lot of the races have been won with horses running up with the pace – and Sixmilebridge should be one of those.

This Fergal O’Brien horse has won all three starts over fences and was a G1 winner when taking the Scilly Isles Novices’ Chase last time at Sandown.

While prior to that won well here at Cheltenham and that form has been franked since with the second Califet En Vol winning since.

3:20 Cheltenham: MA SHANTOU

Many chances here – with Kabral DU Mathan, Honesty Policy and past winner Teahupoo noted.

But I think last year’s hero Bob Olinger and Ma Shantou are the ones to focus on.

The former is 3-3 here at Chelts and the last-named also loves it at the track – with 3 wins from 4.

The last was a top win in the Cleeve Hurdle – with the last horse to win that race and follow-up in the Stayers – Paisley Park.

Who was also trained by Emma Lavelle – Ma Shantou’s handler.

4:40 Cheltenham: ACE OF SPADES

Skelton’s Supremely West could be thrown in here.

But their other runner Ace of Spades could be the joker in the pack.

He’s yet to be out of the top 4 from 10 runs over hurdles and was a good winner at the track on New Year’s Day – with the second Ma Shantou since franking that form to win the Cleeve Hurdle.

5:20 Cheltenham: PRENDS GARDE A TOI

Jeriko is other of these so-called plot job horses – and off 145 looks dangerous, but is not always the best jumper.

So a chance is taken on this Gordon Elliott runner, with the yard having won this race a few times since 2016.

This 7yold fell at the DRF, but bounced back to run a fair 4th last time at Punchestown and certainly won’t mind the quicker ground.

Worth Knowing Today 🤔

🏇2:54 Limerick: Trainer Henry De Bromhead has won the last two runnings – Peaceinthevalley
🏇5:20 Cheltenham: Just one winning 6yold in the race since 1971
🏇1:20 Cheltenham: JP McManus is 0-12 and Gordon Elliott is 0-9 in this race
🏇2:00 Cheltenham: 15 of the last 17 winners aged 7 or younger
🏇4:40 Cheltenham: 5 of the last 8 winners wore headgear

Today’s Longest Travellers 🗺️

🏇4:40 Cheltenham: IDEM (363 miles), Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore

Andy Newton’s LAY OF THE DAY ⛔🏇❌

🏇7:30 Chelmsford: COMMANDER OF LIFE

Will be popular with Hollie Doyle riding.

But is still 3lbs higher than his last win and that also came here over 7f.

I’m not sure the step up to 1m is a plus, with all career wins coming over slightly shorter.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?

The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?

In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.

The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.

You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?

It’s similar to a NAP — but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.

In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.

How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?

A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing — and for good reason.

It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet. The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:

      • 6 Doubles
      • 4 Trebles
      • 4 Singles
      • 1 Four-Fold

That’s where the 15 comes from.

A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total — 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.

If you fancy today’s selections, you can use our Lucky 15 horse racing tips above to build this type of wager.

How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?

Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.

So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.

If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.

How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?

To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.

Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.

Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.

Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.

      That’s it — you’re in.
