The Waterford-based handler only took out his training lisence in 2000 but has gone on to enjoy plenty of success during that time.

The Henry de Bromhead Grand National winners total currently stands at just one as MINELLA TIMES won the 2021 renewal with an SP of 11/1.
Minella Times was ridden by Rachael Blackmore that day and it was a famous victory as she became the first ever female jockey to win the race. The race was made even better as 100/1 outsider Balko Des Flos led home a 1-2 for the stable. Minella Times is one of three JP McManus Grand National winners.
2026 Grand National favourite I Am Maximus won in 2024 for Willie Mullins, but De Bromhead trained the third home that day, Minella Indo.

Henry De Bromhead Grand National Runners 2026
De Bromhead will saddle two runners in this year’s Grand National.
He did have five horses entered but three of them are out of the handicap and won’t get a run – Amirite, Harry Des Ongrais and The Short Go.
Instead De Bromhead will just be represented by Monty’s Star and Gorgeous Tom.
16/1 – Monty’s Star
Monty’s Star is without a win since 2023 but has ran creditable in defeat whilst contesting Grade 1 races over the years. Although he’s been out of form this season.
He was fourth in last year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup and second in the Ryanair Chase at the Festival the year before that.
This will be his first visit to Aintree and he represents powerful connections. His owner also owned Minella Indo who competed in two Grand Nationals.
This nine-year-old is likely De Bromhead’s first string and could be the pick of stable jockey Darragh O’Keefe. Trip could bring out some improvement and it’s been the plan all season.
25/1 – Gorgeous Tom
Gorgeous Tom is of a similar profile to his stablemate. It’s been a while since he won but he’s not ran badly in defeat.
Will need a career best to feature here and he does need to prove his stamina, not always looking like he needed this marathon trip. It’s a tough ask.
Although it’s worth noting that he does have solid form in big handicaps.
He was fourth behing Panic Attack at Newbury last November in the Coral Gold Cup. Dan Skelton’s runner has a decent chance at Aintree and is looking to become the 14th Grand National-winning mare.
