Frankie Dettori: Hazapour has a genuine chance for Epsom Derby

Talking in his Daily Mail column, jockey Frankie Dettori admitted he never loses the buzz for Derby day and believes he has a real chance of winning the race for a third time with Hazapour.

Dettori is riding for trainer Dermot Weld, who has had success all around the world, winning the 2016 Derby with Harzand, who is in fact the uncle of Hazapour.

The Italian has won the historic race twice with Golden Horn in 2015 and enjoyed his first success in the Derby with Authorized 11 years ago.

Dettori also revealed that he will be wearing the colours of owner Aga Khan, who has won the Derby five times.

The jockey admitted that Aidan O’Brien’s Saxon Warrior is the one to beat on Saturday afternoon, however, the Italian will be hoping to make it a hat trick of wins in the Derby with Hazapour.

Hazapour, who is the third favourite at 10/1, will be Dettori’s 23rd ride in the Derby.
