Verbal Dexterity ruled out of Irish 2000 Guineas by Jim Bolger

Verbal Dexterity has been ruled out of the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh later this month, with trainer Jim Bolger claiming ‘it’ll be a while before you see him’, Sporting Life report.

Trainer Bolger ruled him out of the highly anticipated race on May 26, after suffering a further setback.

The original target return date for the Group One winner was for the Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.

Bolger took the blame himself after a below-par run in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster in October, with Verbal Dexterity finishing fourth behind Saxon Warrior.

Talking to the media, Bolger said:

It will be a while before you see him. He’s fine, but having missed the time he’s going to miss the Curragh as well, so after that there is no hurry. His big day is the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown (in September) and if there is a run in between, that will be fine.
