According to the official result at Punchestown on Tuesday, Chloe’s Boy claimed the Punchestown feature result in the Festival 2027 On Sale Soon Handicap, delivering at 16/1 with a decisive half-length success in the 1m1f contest on Good ground. Siobhan Rutledge rode the winner for trainer H Rogers, settling matters firmly in the closing stages to secure the most significant performance of the afternoon.
The 8/1 runner-up Duchess Anne finished second by a narrow margin, but the scale of the Punchestown feature result rewarded those who backed the outsider. At odds that few would have fancied at the start of the day, the victory marked a clear breakthrough at this level and sent the winning prize of €6,000 to the Rogers yard.
Card Strength Across Six Races
The Punchestown feature result crowned a solid afternoon of racing. Earlier, The Good Wife struck at 2/1 odds in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, with William J. Lee in the saddle and trainer P. Twomey orchestrating a decisive performance. The filly ran out clear of Silver Kiss and Exceptionally, who featured in our morning Punchestown Fillies Maiden preview but could not sustain the necessary momentum to trouble the favourite.
Follow Me claimed the Punchestown Jumps Opener October 13th Handicap at 13/2, while Back Straight justified prohibitive odds at 30/100 in the EBF Median Auction Maiden. Golden Splendour won the afternoon’s second-ranked contest at 7/2 over 1m1f, narrowly edging the 5/4 favourite Minella Rockett, and Sanctijude rounded off the card with a 9/2 success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.
