The British Horseracing Authority has moved three upcoming Flat fixtures after new Met Office amber weather warnings placed more pressure on Britain’s summer racing schedule.

Windsor’s Saturday 27 June card will now be staged in the evening, with the first race at 17:15 instead of 13:50 and the finale at 20:15 instead of 17:10. The BHA said the change was made to avoid racing during the hottest part of the day, with Windsor included in the latest amber warning area.

The decision follows an earlier move for Friday’s fixtures at Doncaster and Yarmouth. Doncaster will now race from 10:15 to 13:15, while Yarmouth is scheduled to begin at 10:30 and finish at 13:30.

Welfare Policy Drives Fixture Changes

The regulator said each fixture will continue to be managed case by case, with local forecasts and environmental conditions assessed under its hot weather policy. The latest BHA Windsor fixture update also noted that Lingfield Park’s Saturday meeting is already due to take place in the evening.

For racegoers, trainers and travelling staff, the practical message is clear: check revised race times before setting off, because transport windows and stable routines may change quickly. The BHA said further updates will be issued where necessary as the heat picture develops across the week.
