Joliestar will carry the Australian challenge into Royal Ascot on Saturday when she lines up in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, the final Group 1 of the week.
The six-furlong showpiece has drawn 19 runners on good-to-firm ground, with the Chris Waller-trained mare set to break from stall nine under James McDonald.
It gives the final afternoon at Ascot a sharp international edge, with Japan, Australia, France, Ireland and Britain all represented in a race that has become one of the strongest global tests at the meeting.
Thoroughbred Daily News reported that Joliestar was confirmed in the middle of the draw, while 2025 runner-up Satono Reve will come from stall 18 under Ryan Moore. The Racing Post racecard lists the race at 3.40pm, with 19 runners declared for the Group 1 over the straight six furlongs.
Satono Reve returns as Overpass adds more heat
Satono Reve gives the race a fascinating returning storyline after finishing second in last year’s running, and Moore’s booking only sharpens the sense that Japan has come back with unfinished business.
Overpass is another major part of the pace picture after finishing third in Tuesday’s King Charles III Stakes.
Asking a horse to back up at the same meeting is never straightforward, but his presence brings proven Ascot speed into a field already full of depth.
Lake Forest, Comanche Brave, Sajir and Powerful Glory add further substance to a race that should offer a cleaner read on the older sprinting division than many early-summer Group 1s.
Joliestar, though, is the name around which the race now turns.
The final day has already been well served on ReadHorseRacing, including our Royal Ascot day-five trends and stats, Saturday Royal Ascot each-way selections and Friday’s day-four Royal Ascot recap.
Now the week comes down to one last top-level sprint, and Joliestar has the chance to leave Ascot with a result that would travel far beyond Berkshire.
