Royal Ascot Saturday Each-Way Tips – Two More Selections On Day 5

See my Royal Ascot each-way tips for Saturday 20th June where I’ve got a fancy in two of the big races on what looks a top class day of racing.

Royal Ascot Day Five Each-Way Tips – 20th June 2026

Day five brings another tricky card but I’ve got a couple of fancies in the big fields at generous each-way prices.

Hopefully these two fancies can run into the places at nice prices, or even better go and win.

See the full ITV Racing schedule for Saturday with seven races live from Ascot.

  • 15:05 – Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2, 1m4f)

  • 16:20 – Jersey Stakes (Group 3, 7f)

Two Royal Ascot Day Five Each-Way Tips: 20/06/2026

See my each-way tips for the fifth day of Royal Ascot below.

17:00 – Wokingham Stakes (Class 2, 6f): APOLLO ONE @ 30/1

APPOLO ONE is not getting any younger but his mark is dropping and this could be the time to catch him, albeit this is a deep renewal.

He always runs well at Ascot and is now 7lbs lower than when winning a Group 3 here in 2024.

That was his last win but he’s not run badly on his two starts so far this season and looks attractively handicapped.

Also worth noting that he was only beaten three-and-a-half lengths in this race last year and that was off 109 so 14lbs lower this time around.

He’s not going to be improving, but he’s a solid handicapper on his day and I’m hoping he can take advantage of a mark of 97.

Cristophe Soumillon is a nice jockey booking and I think he’ll be in the places at the very least. Stall 31 is advantageous too.

This is his fourth attempt at the Wokingham and they say good things come to those who wait.

17:35 – Golden Gates Stakes (Class 2, 1m2f): BALZAC @ 25/1

BALZAC makes his handicap debut here after running in the Epsom Derby just a couple of weeks ago.

He was tailed off at Epsom but hardly had a tough race and this is a far more realistic target.

The soft ground at Epsom combined with the 1m4f probably asked a bit too much of him so this drop in trip and quicker ground is sure to suit.

He ran well in the Derby Trial over this trip on good ground so he can fare better than what he showed last time here.

The form of the second Derby trial he ran in at Lingfield is also pretty hot, given the two horses he was beaten by went and ran extremely well in the real thing.

Billy Loughnane jumps on top for the first time and I think Balzac should be taken very seriously off an opening mark of 97.
