Royal Ascot day three each-way tips: Strong fancies in the hot handicaps

Check out my Royal Ascot each-way tips for day three after two smashing days of action so far. I’ve got a fancy in the x and also the X.

Royal Ascot Day Three Each-Way Tips – 18th June 2026

There’s plenty of value around on day three as I’ve got a couple of fancies at nice prices with generous place offerings from various bookies.

Royal Ascot handicaps are never easy, but it’s always worth throwing a dart or two at them – as anything can happen.

See the full ITV Racing schedule for Thursday below with seven races at Ascot.

  • 14:30 – Chesham Stakes (Listed, 7f)
  • 15:05 – King George V Stakes (Class 2, 1m4f)
  • 15:40 – Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2, 1m4f)
  • 16:15 – Gold Cup (Group 1, 2m4f)
  • 16:50 – Britannia Stakes (Class 2, 1m)
  • 17:35 – Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3, 1m2f)
  • 18:10 – Buckingham Palace Stakes (Class 2, 7f)

Royal Ascot Each-Way Tips – Thursday 18th June 2026

See my two each-way tips for Royal Ascot day three below.

16:50 Britannia Stakes (Class 2, 1m): MOONFALL @ 10/1

MOONFALL returned from a winter break with a promising run at Chester last time and was a big eyecatcher on the day.

He was gelded over the winter after pretty mediocre form as a two-year-old but is open to plenty of improvement here.

He stayed on stoutly from the back of the field at Chester, suggesting like he’d appreciate going up to a mile and I think he will surely be involved at the finish.

Top Australian jockey Zac Lloyd is booked and Moonfall is dangerously unexposed.

Of course, there’s plenty of unexposed horses in this line-up but I like the high draw as in last year’s race the first five home came from stalls 27+ (Moonfall drawn 28).

If he’s good enough, which I think he is, then he should be at least be in the places.

18:10 – Buckingham Palace Stakes (Class 2, 7f): ROYAL VELVET @ 12/1

I’m a big fan of ROYAL VELVET and she has been a different mare all together this season, winning a Group 3 at Lingfield when seen last.

7 furlongs is where she’s seen to best effect and William Buick retaining the ride once again is a huge plus, as he would have had plenty of options in this race.

Buick knows the horse well, winning four times from five rides.

Everything points to another big run and whilst she’s 11lbs higher than when landing a Newmarket handicap in April, it’s possible that there’s still wiggle room in her mark.

Royal Velvet has a Group 1 entry and if she wins this hot handicap then it’s likely we’ll be seeing her at Group level for the forseeable future.
