Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
4:20 Ascot OMBUDSMAN
The last horse to win the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes was Muhtarram in the 90’s – so Ombudsman will be trying to repeat the feat.
But the good news is that last double winner was trained by a certain John Gosden, who looks after Ombudsman.
He burst onto the scene in this race last season with a fantastic turn-of-foot and I think he can do the same.
Yes, he’s taking on the Arc winner Daryz today and also Almaqam and Minnie Hauk – but the pick returned with a top win in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes and should only improve for that.
He’s also the only course winner in the line-up too and so I’ll take my fellow pundit on the Final Furlong Podcast Peter Michael’s favourite horse to take this £567k prize.

2:40 Worcester GENEALOGY
Fair flat performer for the Denis Gerard Hogan yard but is now with Faye Bramley.
Ran the useful Winston Junior – another Bramley horse – close at Ascot back in January and that’s by far the best form on the table here.
Harry Cobden rides and so it will be a shock if Genealogy isn’t landing the spoils here.
3:50 Worcester OUR GUIDE
This Jamie Snowden horse heads here off two wins and looks the sort to have more in the tank no handicapping.
Yes, he’s not looked the most fluent over the jumps, but with more experience that will sharpen up.
While he’s also a horse that seems to need a bit of encouragement – but the good news is he seems to respond.
The further they go, the better he should be – but the slight drop back in trip is a small worry.
5:57 Ripon BEAUTY BOX
Going the right way after a good 4th on debut at Newmarket and then an improved 2nd at Windsor in early May.
That seems to be the best form on offer here and so Beauty Box is the call to grab her first career win today.
