There was a huge shock in the Queen Anne Stakes on Tuesday at Royal Ascot as Ten Bob Tony came from the back of the pack to win at 50/1.

Royal Ascot 2026 got off to the craziest of starts as Ten Bob Tony produced an almighty shock in the Queen Anne Stakes.

Ed Walker’s horse came from last to first to go and win the huge meeting opener.

It was a fantastic ride from Kieran Shoemark, who got his first ever Group 1 winner at Royal Ascot.

With the favourite and joint-second favourite, Godolphin had a strong hand in the race.

However, the favourite Notable Speech was disappointing, First Conquest is probably still finishing and Opera Ballo came third.

More Thunder was the bridesmaid once again, finishing second. He finished second to Notable Speech when last seen and reversed the form this time, but his late challenge was not enough to get by Ten Bob Tony.

Kieran Shoemark “Delighted” After Queen Anne Win

Ten Bob Tony bounced back to form last time out at Epsom when winning the Group 3 Tattenham Corner Stakes and confirmed that was no fluke in the opener at Ascot.

Shoemark was speaking after the race.

He travelled superbly, I didn’t think we were going overly quick and we wanted to ride him to run well. Clearly he’s in a great vein of form.

I’m somewhat surprised, but delighred. I’m riding for a great stable for Ed Walker and his team.

Keep an eye on where Walker’s horse goes next with a bit of time off expected now.
