See my ITV Racing York and Sandown tips on Saturday 13th June on a good day of action. I’ll be combining three selections for a trixie.
Busy Day For ITV Racing With EIGHT Live Races
We’re counting down the days now until Royal Ascot but there’s still a good slate of action this Saturday.
Thew ITV Racing cameras head to Sandown, York and Chester for eight races. It’s not quite the strength of Ascot next week but there’s plenty of competitive fields.
Both York and Sandown have a Listed race with big field handicaps either side of them.

ITV Racing York & Sandown Tips On Saturday 13th June
See my selections below where I’ll be combining the three for a WIN Trixie and level-stake singles.
13:32 Sandown – Download The BetMGM App Handicap (Class 3, 1m1f): QUARTERMASTER
The opening ITV Racing contest of the day is a trappy handicap with six runners but I think there’s some value in QUARTERMASTER.
He makes his handicap debut here off a mark of 84 and I’d be surprised if he isn’t a little bit better than that.
With just two starts so far, he’s unexposed and he should come on for his run at Newmarket last month. He was sent off favourite for that race and was well beaten but there were excuses.
Coming out of the gates, he swerved left and was keen early on. He was in touch coming down to the furlong pole but by that point the winner (who had a recent run) was away and gone.
Stepping up another furlong should be fine too with plenty of stamina in his pedigree. Might just be chucked in here and he should have what it takes to beat these rivals.
Shaped like a stayer on his sole two-year-old start where he won at Chelmsford and he can improve further here.
14:42 Sandown – BetMGM Scurry Stakes (Listed, 5f): ARGENTINE TANGO
Highly tried as a two-year-old in hot company, ARGENTINE TANGO remains a filly with potential.
Her form is much better than most of this field, and being the only filly in the line-up she gets 5lb from her male rivals.
The only one with arguably better form is the favourite but I think Words Of Truth might need the run here and surely 5f won’t be ideal.
But the trip will be perfect for Argentine Tango. She ran against older horses in the Temple Stakes at Haydock a few weeks ago and she was only beaten just over three lengths.
Sent of 50/1 that day, she outran her odds and I think she’s ready to win again. All three of her starts this season have been solid efforts in defeat and for me she’s the one to beat.
15:00 York – Sky Bet Race To The Ebor Grand Cup Stakes (Listed 1m6f): EPIC POET
It’s been a long time since EPIC POET has won a race but he always runs with credit and is never beaten far.
He’s also never won at York before, but his last two visits to the Knavesmire have been encouraging, finishing third and second in the last two renewals of the Yorkshire Cup.
David O’Meara’s charge has been running in much higher grades over the last 18 months, mainly operating at Group 2 and Group 3 level, so this represents a big drop in class.
I’m hoping these slightly calmer waters can get him back to winning ways. His 4th in the Henry II Stakes at Sandown last time was encouraging and he did his best work late on.
He’s down in trip again but his last win in January 2025 at Meydan came over 1m6f so it should be no problem.
Ryan Moore gets on top for the first time so that’s also encouraging.
