Aiden O’Brien Has Favourite Again After Amelia Earhart Dazzles At Chester

After winning the Cheshire Oaks at Chester, Amelia Earhart is the new favourite for the Epsom Oaks.

She beat I’m The One by 2l, who some thought may have been the second coming of Enable – but John & Thady Gosden’s filly was a big drifter on the day and only managed second.

Amelia Earhart travelled smoothly during the race and produced a frightening turn of foot in the home straight to give O’Brien a 10th Cheshire Oaks win.

Minnie Hauk won that race las year, and she went on to win the Epsom Oaks, so there’s no surprise Amelia Earhart has been pushed into favourite.

However, after Precise won the 1000 Guineas, she had her odds slashed into second-favourite.

Aidan O’Brien Searching For 12th Epsom Oaks Win

Master flat trainer O’Brien has a prolific record in the Oaks and is searching for his 12th win in the race this summer.

Winning it with the likes of Minding and Love, it’s a race usually won by superstars of his.

He won it in 2025 with Minnie Hauk and that was his first Oaks victory since 2022.

With Amelia Earhart now looking like the Ballydoyle Oaks number one, O’Brien has a strong chance of going back-to-back in the race.

You’ll be able to watch the 2026 Epsom Oaks unfold live on the ITV Racing Schedule at the start of June.

John & Thady Gosden may have an Oaks contender on their hands again after Legacy Link won the Musidora Stakes at York.

They did have I’m The One before, but she was ruled out of the Oaks due to injury. But now Legacy Link has stepped up and looks to be the stable’s number one hope.

She fought off Felicitas who came their with a strong challenge at York and she showed great determination under a good ride from Colin Keane.
