Check out my Curragh tips on Sunday 24th May in what looks a great slate of action on Irish 1000 Guineas day and I’ll be providing a selection in the big one.
Curragh Tips For Sunday 24th May: Three Selections To Look Out For
The Curragh host the second day of their Irish Guineas meeting with a stacked eight-race card.
With four Group races on the card, I’ll be putting up a selection in three of them.
Two Group 1s on the day include the Irish 1000 Guineas and then the Tattersalls Gold Cup. There’s plenty to get stuck into so buckle up and read on!

15:20pm – Lanwades Stud Stakes (Group 2): ONE LOOK 4/1 (NB)
ONE LOOK has won three times at the Curragh and I’m taking her to keep progressing on her first start as a five-year-old.
She was well beaten in the Champion Fillies and Mares Stakes at the end of last season but that was over 1m4f so back down to a mile, I can see her going extremely well.
Course form at the Curragh counts for plenty and this daughter of Gleneagles has never ran a bad race at the County Kildare track.
She was second in this race last year and was subsequently purchased by Wathnan Racing, who’s retained rider James Doyle travels over for just the one ride.
Her first race of the last two seasons have both been wins so we know she goes fresh.
3:55pm – Tattersalls Gold Cup (Group 1, 1m2 1/2f): BAY CITY ROLLER 8/1 (EW)
We might find it hard to get Minnie Hauk beat but I think she’s fairly short and think BAY CITY ROLLER offers a sold each-way alternative.
He’s versatile trip wise and ran very well at Chester on his seasonal reappearance in the Huxley Stakes.
Finishing just a neck behind last year’s Epsom Derby winner Lambourn, I think he’ll come on a bunch for that ran.
That form is good and I find it hard to see him outside of the top three. Interesting each-way pick to take on the favourite.
4:30pm – Irish 1000 Guineas (Group 1, 1m): TRUE LOVE 11/10 (NAP)
For me, I can’t see past TRUE LOVE in the Irish 1000 Guineas and I’m taking her to complete a famous double.
She was very impressive when landing the English 1000 Guineas at Newmarket a few weeks ago and the fact that Ryan Moore chooses her here is telling.
He rode Precise at Newmarket, but jumps ship to True Love and you can see why. The way she quickened the last day to glide by the field was excellent to watch and she can follow up with ease here.
Winter and Hermosa were two other Aidan O’Brien fillies that completed the Guineas double and I think True Love will be the latest.
