Leopardstown Tips On Sunday 10th May 2026

Check out my Leopardstown tips on Sunday 10th May as I preview and give a selection in the three big races that make up the middle of the card.

Leopardstown Tips On Sunday Include Derby Trial Selection

The flat season in Ireland is heating up now and there’s a solid card at Leopardstown on Sunday afternoon.

There is two Group 3s either side of a listed race and a couple of interesting looking maidens. See the full schedule below.

However, Ryan Moore won’t be riding as he’s in France looking to complete the French Guineas double for Aidan O’Brien.

2:30pm – Muktamakina Stakes (Group 3, 7f): CITY OF MEMPHIS

In a trappy looking race, I thought CITY OF MEMPHIS was the play.

She’s very lightly raced for her age and must have had some sort of problems last year as she wasn’t seen for 332 days after running well in the Irish 1000 Guineas.

But she looked good when returning from that lay-off a few weeks back at Gowran Park and it was a good pipe opener for bigger and better things.

Connections have had to bide their time with this filly but I think it might pay off and they can secure some black type, landing this Group 3.

The form of her maiden win as a three-year-old at Cork also received plenty of form boosts along the way too, even if it was a year ago.

3:05pm – Amethyst Stakes (Listed, 1m): MISSISSIPPI RIVER

MISSISSIPPI RIVER should come on for his run at listed level over this course-and-distance back in April and I’m taking him to win this.

He ran better than the bare form suggested last time and the better ground here should be right up his street.

Often bringing his best around Leopardstown, he should have what it takes to beat this field – even if he can be somewhat unreliable.

Whilst he’s a big price for both races, he’s entered for two Group 1s at Royal Ascot so he must be working well enough at home to suggest he can run there – even if it is for pacemaking duties.

3:40pm – Derby Trial Stakes (Group 3, 1m2f): PIERRE BONNARD

Aidan O’Brien has an insane record in this race, winning it seven times in the last 10 years.

He saddles two this time around, but I think PIERRE BONNARD is the one to be with. The son of Camelot was once the Epsom Derby favourite and could still shorten for the Classic if successful here.

But he’s still going to have to improve from his last run.

He only managed seventh (of 9) over the same C&D on seasonal reappearance but he’s got some great two-year-old form and if showing up to any kind of level from last season then he’s bombproof.

That concludes our Leopardstown tips for Sunday 10th May.
