ITV Racing Haydock & Lingfield Trixie Tips On Saturday 9th May

See my ITV Racing Haydock and Lingfield tips where I’ll be combining three selections for a Trixie on Saturday 9th May with a busy day of action ahead.

ITV Racing To Show NINE Races Live On Saturday 9th May 2026

The grind doesn’t stop for the ITV Racing cameras as they head to Lingfield, Ascot and Haydock with NINE races live on Saturday 9th May.

We have the Epsom Derby and Epsom Oaks trials at Lingfield as well as some big field handicaps from Ascot and Haydock – there’s plenty to get stuck into.

ITV Racing Haydock & Lingfield Tips On Saturday 9th May

I’ve got three selections on Saturday and will be playing a Trixie and level-stake singles.

12:55 Lingfield – William Hill Epic Boosts Handicap (Class 4, 1m2f): MORCAR

MORCAR won this race last year and arrives to regain his crown back on the same mark.

This looks to have been his target and he had a good blow when seen on seasonal reappearance at Newbury – that was also a first run after having wind surgery so he should be primed and ready to go here.

Despite finishing 10th of 14 at Newbury last month, he wasn’t beaten that far and can come on for that.

I thought he looked overpriced and in a tough contest it could pay to stick with one that we know enjoys the track.

He’s won his last two starts at Lingfield and he’s the one to be with for me and represents good value. Joe Leavy keeps the ride.

1:15 Haydock – Swinton Handicap Hurdle (Class 1, 1m7 1/2f): MADE U BLUSH

I think MADE U BLUSH is a big price in the Swinton, she ran very well in a Juvenile race at Sandown last month and she gets in here off a low weight.

She looked the likely winner of that Sandown race but was swallowed up by her stablemate close to the line and I think she can go close off just 10-2.

The weight-for-age means she gets in off bottom weight and I think this could turn out to be solid race planning from Champion Trainer Dan Skelton.

This filly will enjoy the ground and she’s won at the trip so that’s no concern either against older rivals.

2:40 Lingfield – Chartwell Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3, 7f): ROYAL VELVET

ROYAL VELVET won a hot handicap at Newmarket last month in quite easy fashion and may be able to take this step up in grade in her stride.

Unlike some of her rivals at the top of the betting, she has a run under her belt and is in good form looking like a filly on an upwards curve.

I think this is a weak Group 3 and I hope race fitness paired with clear enthusiasm for her racing right now will be enough for Royal Velvet to win this. William Buick rides again.

That concludes our Haydock and Lingfield tips for ITV Racing this Saturday.

Haydock & Lingfield Tips For ITV Racing Trixie

  • 12:55 Lingfield – MORCAR (EW single)
  • 1:15 Haydock – MADE U BLUSH (EW single)
  • 2:40 Lingfield – ROYAL VELVET (WIN single)

Placing a £2.50 Trixie (£10 total) on these three selections will return just over £1,800 if all of them win.
