Wathnan Racing Buy Coral-Eclipse Entered Gethin

Wathnan Racing have added another horse to their ever-growing ranks after purchasing Owen Burrows’ Gethin, who made an encouraging reappearance at Kempton recently.

Gethin Purchased By Wathnan Racing

Owen Burrows may be dreaming of even more success this season after getting the backing from Wathnan Racing, who have purchased Gethin.

The son of Ghaiyyath made a successful return to action when landing the listed Magnolia Stakes at Kempton last month.

That performance was impressive, and Wathnan Racing clearly liked what they saw.

Gethin was viewed as an Epsom Derby horse last season, but a setback ruled him out and he never made the Classic and had a mid-season layoff.

Wathnan’s bloodstock agent Richard Brown reported the news on Thursday.

He’s got great form around serious horses as a three-year-old and showed his wellbeing when winning at Kempton a few weeks ago.

There is any amount of potential and he is a great credit to his breeders. He’s a really exciting colt.

We’re thrilled he’ll be running in the old gold and peacock blue and we’re sure the Wathnan team will love racing him.

Gethin Entered In Coral Eclipse & Could Also Run At Royal Ascot

There are plenty of middle-distance options for Gethin over the summer and he’s viewed as being a serious Group 1 horse by his new connections.

Burrows will be keeping hold of him and he’s currently entered in the Coral Eclipse at Sandown.

But before then, he could run at Royal Ascot.
