Can The Friday Punchestown Festival Bankers ALL Win?

There are three big Punchestown Festival bankers on Friday that many punters are sure to be getting stuck into. With most putting them in doubles and trebles.

But can DINOBLUE, KING RASKO GREY and LOSSIEMOUTH all win?

You can back them in a 9/4 TREBLE (see below) if you think they are all going in!

Punters Sure To Steam Into Friday Punchestown Festival Bankers

The Punchestown Festival is often associated with some shock results.

This week, we’ve already seen Kitzbuhel and Kopek Des Bordes lose at odds-on, the Cheltenham Bumper winner The Mourne Rambler turned over and El Cairos unplaced.

But favourite backers will be hoping the three big Punchestown Festival bankers on Friday don’t come unstuck.

As the fourth day card will be dominated by THREE short odds-on market leaders.

A trio that also ALL won at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Dinoblue, Lossiemouth and King Rasko Grey are the three big Friday favourites in question.

4:50 – Hanlon Concrete Irish EBF Glencarraig Lady Francis Flood Mares Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+) 2m4½f RTE2

The first of the Punchestown Festival bankers is DINOBLUE – as she looks add to her recent Mares’ Chase win at the Cheltenham Festival here.

This classy JP McManus chaser has dominated this division for the last few seasons and also landed this prize 12 months ago.

She’s won 50% of her 24 career starts, including 11 (from 20) over fences, and only been out of the first three once over the bigger obstacles.

At Cheltenham, she had Only By Night 1 3/4 lengths back in second and there is no reason to think that Gavin Cromwell runner can reverse that form.

Kala Conti, who was in the process of running a big race at Aintree last time, might be the fly in the ointment.

But she needs to proven herself over this longer trip too. Something Dinoblue certainly doesn’t have to do.

6:00 – Alanna Homes Champion Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+) 2m4½f RTE2

If Dino goes in then the Punchestown Festival banker brigade will turn their attention to KING RASKO GREY next.

This Willie Mullins horse, who is actually NOT a grey, was the 11/1 winner of the Turners at the Cheltenham Festival and this race looks easier.

Winners (or horses that ran well) in that Festival race have a good record of following up here.

Oh, and Mullins and Townend have won the last five runnings of this Punchestown Friday race.

Some may cling to the better ground here as a reason to take him on.

However, he won on ‘good-to-soft’ at Cheltenham so might get away with it.

The form of that Turners win has been boosted too. With two horses that ran in behind Zeus Power and Bossman Jack both winning since.

In short, it will be a brave punter that says Rasko Grey can’t be ‘King’ again.

BACK: KING RASKO GRAY @ 1.44

6:40 – Boodles Champion Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+) 2m RTE2

If Dino and Rasko go in, then the bookies will be ‘bricking it’ as the final leg of the Friday Punchestown Festival bankers is none other than LOSSIEMOUTH.

This season’s Champion Hurdler, for many, will be the main ‘banker’ of the trio.

Lossiemouth also become a millionaire when winning at Cheltenham Festival in March and will be looking to boost her winnings by a further €176k here.

She’s 3-3 at Punchestown too, so we know the track is fine and having missed Aintree has been freshened up with 52 days off.

Who might beat her?

Lossie takes on the 2025 Champion Hurdler Golden Ace, but is rated 12lbs inferior to the Mullins mare.

While the potentially smart William Munny is back from 416 days off so might just need this. And Anzadam hasn’t really hit the heights he once promised.

In short, if the treble bankers bettors have got this far intact, then you feel they might start to form an orderly queue at the payout desk before this race is even run.

BACK: LOSSIEMOUTH @ 1.40
