Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip 🥇

1:50 Cork: ABSURDE (NAP)

Only a pound between Absurde (153) and the Elliott-trained Ndaawi (152) and the former was ahead of the pick at Cheltenham last time out in the County Hurdle.

However, that was his first run since November and can strip much fitter for that run.

The better ground is a plus too and Harry Cobden won on the horse this time last year at Plumpton, when taking the Sussex Champion Hurdle.

This has also been a kind race for Mullins – with two wins in the last three – so I’ll hopefully Absurde won’t make me look ‘foolish’ here.

Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips🏇

1:15 Cork: MINO DES MOTTES (NB)

Cobden has another big chance here with this 4yold, who is in calmer waters after running down the field at Cheltenham in the Fred Winter last time.

Before that was a close second to Too Bossy For Us at Punchestown and on that form will be hard to beat back in a race that lacks depth.

2:25 Cork: KIMI DE MAI

Next up for Harry Cobden is Kimi De Mai, who was last seen running 3rd (of 19) at the DRF at Leopardstown.

Missed the Cheltenham Festival, so will be fresher than most.

Plus, has also run 5th to Oldschool Outlaw earlier this season and back racing against her own sex can see her gain her first win over hurdles.

4:10 Cork: CLASSIC GETAWAY

The final Cobden/Mullins runner to look out for today is this 10yold.

Does need to prove he can stay this far but only has two others to beat now with Promontory a non-runner.

Heads here having run third at Gowran Park the last day to Impaire Et Passe 50 days ago.

Also has to give a fair bit of weight away, but the better ground will help on that score.

Today’s Each-Way Horse Racing Betting Tips🏇

3:10 Bath: RUBY’S PROFIT

The Newland/Insole yard are in good form at the moment and also boast a 29% SR here at Bath with their recent runners (2-7).

This 4yold filly was last seen running 4th at Wolverhampton in November and over today’s 5f trip and is down a pound.

Billy Loughnane booked to ride also catches the eye too and draw 8 looks fine.

Therefore, with the yard in good form and the jockey booking, hopefully Ruby’s can show a ‘profit’ here.

3:15 Fairyhouse: LOVE ME TENDER

He’s On Fire will be popular here with Paul Townend riding for Willie Mullins.

And this is a race the yard Mullins have won three times in the last four.

But Mullins also has several other runners in the race – notably Love Me Tender.

This JP McManus-owned runner has picked up two bronzes of late – the last at the DRF behind Doctor Steinberg.

But that came over 2m6f and the drop back in trip here will suit and he’s another that missed the Cheltenham Festival.

Yes, does have to give away 3lbs – but the form of her third at Leopardstown at Christmas looks fair – with the 5th The Passing Wife running well in the Albert Bartlett recently.

4:05 Plumpton: INDEMNITY

Fair hurdler from the Emma Lavelle yard that is better than his showing the last day at Kempton.

Was sent off favourite that day, but before that run had run well in several similar race – including a second to Alexei at Ascot.

The stable have given him a break since (99 days) and that could be the key here – having run well off a break in the past.

Ben Jones rides and the Lavelle camp head here in fine fettle with a 35% SR in the last 14 days (6-17).

Worth Knowing Today 🤔

🏇2:40 Fairyhouse: Trainer Willie Mullins has won 7 of the last 8 runnings
🏇3:50 Fairyhouse: Trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Paul Townend have won the last 4 runnings
🏇5:00 Fairyhouse: Willie Mullins has won 6 of the last 7 renewals

Today’s Longest Travellers 🗺️

🏇2:20 Plumpton: SWEET NIGHTGALE (331 miles), Polly Gundry

Andy Newton’s LAY OF THE DAY ⛔🏇❌

🏇5:25 Bath: VOLENDAM

No win in 17 for this Tony Carroll runner that is sure to still be popular after a close third at Kempton last time out.

Is off the same back here (53) and was only beaten 1/2 a length.

But has also been a beaten favourite twice in the last three and this will also be his first run here at Bath.

Yes, should be in the mix, but not sure he’s value for a horse with a 0-17 record coming into the race.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?

The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?

In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.

The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.

You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?

It’s similar to a NAP – but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.

In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.

How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?

A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing – and for good reason.

It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet.

The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:

      • 6 Doubles
      • 4 Trebles
      • 4 Singles
      • 1 Four-Fold

That’s where the 15 comes from.

A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total – 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.

If you fancy today’s selections, you can use our Lucky 15 horse racing tips above to build this type of wager.

How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?

Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.

So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.

If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.

How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?

To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.

Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.

Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.

Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.

      That’s it – you’re in.
