Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip 🥇

2:30 Hereford LELANT (NAP)

One of just two Sean Bowen rides today and looks to hold a big chance.

Yes, flopped the last day at Fontewell, but there were a few excuses there.

Firstly the race was run on heavy ground and secondly it came only a few weeks after his last.

That run before, however, was a win at Market Rasen and before that won here at Hereford.

The key to those wins, where they both came on better ground, which he’ll get again today.

We know the track suits as well, Sean Bowen has won on the horse in the past – while he’s been freshened up with 3 1/2 months off (won first time out this season).

So, there’s a lot to like dropped a pound for last time too.

Other Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips Today🏇

4:41 Hexham: CASUAL OBSERVER

The Harry Derham yard send this 7yold on the long trip up to Hexham and hopefully it can pay off.

He was a good winner over hurdles at Newbury in February and wasn’t disgraced when second at Bangor on his chase debut last time.

That experience will be a plus and has had 28 days to get over that run.

The Derham camp remain is good form too (33% SR) and Paul O’Brien heads up for the one ride.

Of the rest, Big John Wayne is noted and looks another possible improver over fences – but the niggle is the form of the Russell/Scudamore yard at the mo (1-25).

So I’ll set my sights on Casual Observer here.

5:05 Hereford: ONE KNIGHT (NB)

Ben Pauling does well with his NH Flat runners here at Hereford, but a chance is taken on Emma Lavelle’s One Knight, who is back from 477 days off.

He was last seen winning well at Southwell in a NH Flat race in Dec 24 so has clearly had a few issues since.

But the market is speaking well for his return, with connections having taken their time with him.

He’s got to give some weight away, but if back to the level that saw him win, would be hard to beat – especially as Cameron Johnstone-Baker, who rode him last time, can still take off a handy 10lbs.

One Knight is the pick to have the most solid armor here.

5:22 Lingfield: COMPRADOR

The unraced Westport could be anything, having cost 270,000 gns and well related.

But I’ll take the experience edge here with the Ed Walker runner Comprador, who has been third in both starts to date.

Yes, he’s was a bit disappointing the last day at Newcastle when a beaten odds-on jolly.

But looks to be still finding his feet and that experience will be a plus.

The cheekpieces are on for the first time today too, which should him relax and settle better.

And Kieran Shoemark takes over in the plate.

Bonus Each-Way Betting Tips🏇

3:11 Hexham: THE CISTERCIAN

An open-looking race with many chances, but the Stuart Edmonds yard often do okay here at Hexham and have been amongst the winners of late too.

The yard boast a 60% (3-5) current SR at the course and even though the pick has unseated in two of his last four starts, is chanced.

In between those unseats he’s been third twice and also won at Leicester back in December.

Was also still running well when unseating last time at Haydock (2 out) – back in trip (2m) will be fine and as long as he can iron out his jumping errors looks the sort to be involved in this grade.

3:52 Lingfield: SPACEAGE LOVE SONG

This Michael Bell runner might be worth a small e/w interest now back to 1m4f.

He’s been running over further (1m6f) of late and not quite been getting home, so the drop back in distance looks a good move.

Joe Bradnam is back in the plate too (has won on him in the past) and is still able to take off a handy 7lbs.

The Bell team have also had 2 winners from their last 3 and have an 18% SR with their 4+ year-olds at Lingers.

Spaceage Love Song could easily blast out a tune here.

4:00 Hereford: DIRECTLY

Another yard that are going okay at present is the Sam Drinkwater team – with 2 wins from their last 6.

They have this 7yold here to try and improve those figures still, who was pulled up at Chepstow last time.

But is down 4lbs for that run and Ben Macey also takes off 5lbs this time – meaning he’s 9lbs better off.

The drop back to 2m also looks a plus (from 2m 3 1/2f) and cheekpieces are also added.

While with only six career runs, is still learning and will have more to offer.

All these things are pluses and could see him run better than last time, with only 10-9 (less claim) to carry.

Worth Knowing Today 🤔

🏇3:41 Hexham: Trainer Lucinda Russell has won 3 of the last 9 runnings – WAL BUCK’S
🏇Trainer John C McConnell has a 47% SR with his hurdlers at Hexham (7-15) (2:11 Bold Reflection)
🏇Trainer Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore have a 42% SR with their hurdlers at Hexham (5-12) (2:11, C’Mon So, 4:11, Another High Five)
🏇Trainer Jedd O’Keeffe has a 46% SR (6-13) with his runners at Hexham over hurdles (3:11, He’s Bresilian)

Today’s Longest Travellers 🗺️

🏇3:41 Hexham: PLANNED PARADISE (362 miles), Christian Williams

Andy Newton’s LAY OF THE DAY ⛔🏇❌

🏇2:22 Lingfield: GUNDOGAN

Poor race that will give most of the runners some sort of a chance – including the pick from the Tony Carroll team.

But this 5yold is a bit short for me on what he’s shown so far – winning just one of his 28 career starts.

That success also came 21 races ago and in a Novice contest – meaning he’s also still to win in a handicap.

Yes, as a result he’s dropped to a low mark of 54 and Rossa Ryan booked to ride is a plus.

But he’s failed to win off this rating once in the past (neck), but that also came over 6f – he’s back up to 7f today and it’s hard to be confident this longer trip is a plus.

All in all, he could, of course win in a dire affair – but at the prices I can’t see there’s much value in backing a horse that is 1-28 in his career and is yet to score over today’s distance.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?

The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?

In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.

The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.

You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?

It’s similar to a NAP – but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.

In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.

How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?

A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing – and for good reason.

It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet.

The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:

      • 6 Doubles
      • 4 Trebles
      • 4 Singles
      • 1 Four-Fold

That’s where the 15 comes from.

A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total – 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.

If you fancy today’s selections, you can use our Lucky 15 horse racing tips above to build this type of wager.

How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?

Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.

So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.

If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.

How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?

To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.

Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.

Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.

Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.

      That’s it – you’re in.
