The students will be back in full force at the latest edition of ‘Friday Night Live’, so check out our Wolverhampton tips tonight with quickfire selections from all SEVEN races on ITV Racing.
What Is Friday Night Live?
Friday Night Live is a new evening racing initiative that launched earlier this year.
The series was developed Arena Racing Company (ARC) in a partnership with ITV Racing and media company Invades.
This was designed to appeal to younger audiences and in particular students, combining competitive racing with a fun social experience helped by live entertainment throughout the night.
Wolverhampton is next up before the series finishes at Newcastle on March 27th. The last Friday Night Live event was at Southwell where Constitution Hill made his flat debut infront of 4,000 cheering fans.
Wolverhampton Tips Tonight & ITV Racing Quickfire Selections
With nine races scheduled on Friday Night at Wolverhampton, only seven of them will be shown live, so see our quickfire tips for the ITV Racing schedule below.
5:30pm – SBK: Betting Without The Bull Handicap (Class 5, 1m4f): GREEN TEAM @ 9/1 each-way
As all of the races on tonight’s card, they’re fiercly competitive. In a wide open contest, we’re going with GREEN TEAM for Billy Loughnane and Ian Williams.
It might be the time to catch this seven-year-old. He won three times last year and two of those wins came at the track and this career low mark may just be enough to see him prevail. Generally runs well at Wolverhampton.
6:00pm – Friday Night Live With SBK Handicap (Div 1) (Class 5, 1m 1/2f): MOBY QUICK @ 15/2 each-way
MOBY QUICK has not ran badly in defeat of late under a 3lb claimer and Rossa Ryan gets aboard.
This horse has something to prove but again, in such a competitive heat he’s worth chancing with a stronger jockey in the saddle with his mark continuing to drop.
It’s also worth noting that Rossa Ryan and trainer David Evans have a 27% strike rate when combining at Wolverhampton.
6:30pm – Friday Night Live With SBK Handicap (Div 2) (Class 5, 1m 1/2f): EAGLE DAY @ 5/1
We’re hoping that Rossa Ryan and David Evans can get up a quickfire double with EAGLE DAY in the next race. The Irish jockey always picks up a result when partnering this horse with form figures of 1-1-3-1-2, so we’re hoping he can get the job done here.
This horse’s last win was at Wolverhampton back in December 2024 (today’s jockey aboard), and whilst it’s a long time between drinks, Rossa Ryan hasn’t ridden him in over a year (second on 01/02/25) – today might be the day.
7:00pm – SBK: Don’t Settle For Less Handicap (Class 3, 1m 1/2f): CITY OF POETS @ 9/2
A trappy affair in the feature contest where you could make a case for multiple horses but we’ve landed on the consistent course and distance scorer CITY OF POETS.
He’s won three of his six starts so he’s both lightly raced and unexposed in a field where class should prevail. There is solid performers throughout but we’re hoping Rossa Ryan can fire in a quickfire hat-trick.
City Of Poets has had a 132-day break after winning over course and distance last time out so if he’s primed and ready then he should take all of the beating.
7:30pm – Bet Responsibly With SBK Handicap (Class 4, 1m 1 1/2f): FIERCE FORTITUDE @ 13/2 each-way
FIECE FORTITUDE makes handicap debut here and makes plenty of appeal stepping up in trip.
He got off the mark when winning a Brighton maiden back in September last year and being out of a Dubawi mare he should have no issues getting the extra few furlongs.
Amo Racing retained rider David Egan keeps the ride (first time riding was on win lto) and we’re hoping this front-running sort can lead them from pillar to post.
8:00pm – SBK Betting Podcast Handicap (Class 4, 7f): DRAGON LEADER @ 16/5
It may well be the Rossa Ryan show at Wolverhampton tonight as we’re tipping him for a fourth time. DRAGON LEADER returned off a long lay-off at the track last time and showed some promise and came home strongly from the back of the pack.
He should come on for that outing and be more competitive this time around as that was likely a bit of a pipe opener.
Dragon Leader has strong form on the turf from 2023 and if that same horse turns up here then he’s the one to beat, as it’s worth noting he’s not got too many miles on the clock for a five-year-old.
8:30pm – SBK: No Casino, Just Sports Handicap (Class 4, 6f): KING OF BEARS @ 10/1 each-way
The card ends with another tricky handicap. We’re taking a chance on KING OF BEARS who returns from a break after winning here back in December.
He retains the same blinkers that were worn last time out and they seemed to do the trick that day. He’s unexposed on the all-weather (fairly exposed on turf) so he has to have a solid chance raised just 5lbs for that win over course and distance. Might just have a bit in hand.
