Harrington desperate to school Sizing John
Trainer Jessica Harrington is eager for Sizing John to get a racecourse school ahead of a possible run at the Dublin Racing Festival, according to a report on the Irish Independent.
The horse has not run since December 2017 and is struggling to make a comeback due to the good ground.
The 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner is looking to run at a race as early as next week, with the Ladbrokes Dublin Chase over an extended two miles or the three-mile Irish Gold Cup being the likely choices.
When speaking about Sizing John, Harrington said:
Sizing John remains in great form, but it has been a very frustrating season to date, as I have to yet get a racecourse school into him due to the good ground.
I am going to see if I can get him away next week to a racecourse somewhere so that we can get that school over fences into him.
The weather will determine where he’ll go. I had hoped to get him to Navan, but it’s still good there, so we’ll have to give that a miss.
Robert (Power) rode him work up The Old Vic at the Curragh on Friday morning and he was very happy with him.
