Trainer Tom George is expecting The Big Bite to bounce back after the disappointing run at Kempton, according to a report on Sky Sports.

He finished seven lengths behind Nicky Henderson’s Mister Fisher in the race and George believes that there is still more to come from him.

The Big Bite won his first two races over timber but George feels that he just didn’t have the luck in this race.

When speaking about the horse, George said:

The only reason we ran him at Kempton was we were looking for slightly better ground and the other option was the Tolworth, where the ground wouldn’t have suited him either.

We’ve wanted to give him a break and that is what he is having at the moment, so the timing was right but it just didn’t fall his way.

I’d say he will be heading to Cheltenham in the spring, but for what I don’t know yet. I think you could put a line through that run at Kempton and if he were to run against them again, there is no reason he couldn’t beat them.

It was a very disappointing run from The Big Bite, with many people tipping him to win the race. But, George is confident that he can get him back to his best in time for Cheltenham.
