Huge blow as Dan’s Dream set to miss Royal Ascot

Dan’s Dream is set to miss this year’s Royal Ascot after trainer Mick Channon revealed that the horse may be given a mid-season break, according to a report on Racing Ahead.

The three-year-old was forced to withdraw from the from the Irish 1000 guineas at Curragh because of a dirty scope.

The trainer believes that the conditions have not suited his horse and that the ground has negatively affected her performance.

She is now likely to be rested throughout the summer in order to ensure she is ready for the autumn campaign.

When speaking about the horse, Channon said:

She has just got a bit of mucus in her and she scoped bad, otherwise, we would have gone to Ireland with her.

But, having said that, it’s probably a blessing with how the ground was. What we will probably do now is miss Ascot and the Coronation Stakes and prepare for the autumn when we get some soft ground again.

She is in everything but the ground has gone on us. We hope we can have a nice fresh filly for the back-end of the season.

Channon believes that the rest will be good for the horse. The Royal Ascot is set to take place next month but Dan’s Dream sadly won’t be there to participate.
