Harry Angel set to be selected for £7.1m Everest sprint in Australia

Harry Angel’s brilliant performances so far this year have put him in the frame for a call-up to the Everest sprint in Australia, according to a report on the Racing Post.

The horse is trained by Clive Cox and gained a lot of attention after winning the July Cup and the Haydock Sprint Cup last year.

Along with this, Harry Angel finished as the runner-up in the Commonwealth Cup, which was a spectacular achievement.

Damion Flower is one of the slot holders for the Everest sprint and is considering signing the horse for the race. He said:

I’m scouting a little bit earlier than I was last year. I’ve got a couple of nice horses up my sleeve and an international horse I’m looking at.

I’m looking at those sprinters overseas that could match [the locals], a dead set six-furlong horse that can sprint off a fast pace.

The only horse I see at the moment is the sheikh’s horse Harry Angel, I’m not too scared to say that. I haven’t contacted them or anything but he’s one.

Flower is hoping to have a horse who can achieve better than what he did last year as his horse came in eighth place and he believes that Harry Angel is the right one for him.
