Frankie Dettori will ride Veracious in the 1000 Guineas, trainer Sir Michael Stoute revealed Wednesday.
The three-year-old has distinguished parentage, being the daughter of the perfect Frankel, who enjoyed an astonishing if short-lived career, winning all 14 of his races on the flat.
His daughter Veracious will seek to launch her career at Newmarket next month, and will have an experienced hand on the reigns.

Winning her first race in October, again at Newmarket, the Stoute will be hoping his charge can take the next step in the classic.
Stoute said:
We’ll run her (in the Guineas) and Frankie will ride her.
Frankie was very happy with her. She’s a nice filly. She won her maiden here well, and I think she has developed very pleasingly and is coming to herself now, really coming.
Despite this being just her third race, Veracious currently sits fourth from top in the betting odds, with Bet365 giving her odds of 8-1.
Dettori believes the optimism is well placed:
It was the first time I’d ridden her and she’s fit and well.
She comes into the race as a bit of an unknown quantity, but she gave me a decent feel and it’s an open Guineas now.
The preparation has gone well so far.
