Tiger Roll wins 2018 Grand National

Tiger Roll romped home to a 2018 Grand National victory.

The horse went off as a 10/1 shot, and came good over the last few fences to stretch out for the win.

Gordon Elliott captures jump racing’s most prestigious prize, with Davy Russell aboard his charge.

There were several high profile horses tumbling over the giant Aintree fences during the race, including I Just Know and Ucello Conti.

A product of Gigginstown, the stable crew were enthralled in the winners’ enclosure.

Race-start favourite Total Recall ended up far off the pace after a bad early mistake.

A close finish with Pleasant Company beckoned for Tiger Roll, but the outstanding eight-year-old did just enough to cross the winning post in first position.

It was a beautiful day on Merseyside to go jump racing, and the excitement for next year will surely be building once again before long.
