The Gary Moore-trained horse Benatar is looking to close out the jumps season at Sandown.
With a strong performance in the JLT Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham good enough for third place, Moore will be hoping his horse can go one better than the Grade Two win he achieved at Ascot in December.

Speaking of his plans, Moore said:
He had a bone scan, he is fine and he has got the all clear from the vets.
He will have a few days walking, we will see how it is and take it from there, but the good thing is the bone scan showed no fracture of the pelvis.

With a clear injury report, some may have wondered if an entry at Aintree may be in order – but Moore is in no mind to rush.
He won’t get back for Aintree, but hopefully we will get him back for the novice chase at Sandown on the last day of the season.
If the talented Benatar can make it to Sandown for the end of the jumps season, racing fans will be keen to see if this talented six-year-old can set himself up well for the beginning of next year.
