Ruby Walsh has confirmed that he will miss the Grand National after his fall during the Cheltenham Festival aggravated his leg injury, according to a report on the Daily Mail.
The jockey had just recovered from a four-month spell out of action due to a broken leg and managed to recover in time for the Festival.

However, his fall meant that he hurt the same leg once more but luckily, the results from his scans showed signs that it wasn’t as serious as first feared.
Walsh said:
I saw my doctor Diarmuid Moloney and the diagnosis is that it’s a very similar fracture on the inside of the original one, which has effectively opened up.
It’s good news in that the cast has come off and I am in an air-cushioned boot right now. I am hopeful of getting back for Punchestown – Aintree is not going to happen for me though.
I am determined to get back in the saddle for Punchestown and hopefully finish the season on a high.
Walsh admitted that he does not know how long it will take for the injury to heal but he is remaining in good spirits and eyeing a return at the Punchestown Festival, which begins on April 24.
Not riding at Aintree is a huge blow for Walsh, but he has experience of dealing with setbacks such as this and it will only keep him motivated to gain more success in future races.
