Altior coasts to victory in the Queen Mother Champion Chase

As expected, Altior has stormed to victory in the Betway Queen Mother Champion race.

Altior was the huge favourite to win the race but there were significant doubts a few days ago about whether the horse would actually participate after it suffered from lameness in the leg.

However, Altior recovered swiftly and it was confirmed yesterday that it would race today and it has cruised to victory.

This was Altior’s third win at the Cheltenham Festival and it also maintains an unbeaten record over fences.

Altior, ridden by Nico de Boinville secured the powerful victory today afternoon.

The horse seemed to be struggling a bit during the race but the jockey Nico de Boinville kept his composure to steady the horse and continue forward to claim a famous victory.

De Boinville said after the race:

I was in serious trouble the whole way round! He’s some horse. His jumping kept him in the race.

He’s exceptional. He is the best of the best. That was just sensational.
