Trainer Jessica Harrington is confident of winning the Gold Cup for a second consecutive year.
Winning last year with Sizing John, Harrington is looking to get the horse a late warm-up before the big race next Friday.
We may go to Leopardstown on Friday evening to give him a jump and a gallop. I’m not certain, it will just depend on what the weather does,
We seem to be on course with him. I’m happy with him.
Even if Sizing John can’t go back-to-back at Cheltenham, Harrington still commands an impressive second option in Our Duke.
Sizing John and Our Duke are currently third and fourth favourite to win the race at Prestbury Park.
Speaking of Our Duke, Harrington said:
He’s in great order. He’s going to go to the Gold Cup so we’ve got two chances,
Trainers never know who is going to beat who. They’ve never worked against each other. If everything went well, there wouldn’t be much between them.
The Timico Cheltenham Gold Cup goes off at 3:30 on Friday March 16.
