Stayers’ Hurdle third Unowhatimeanharry is not definitely going to Aintree for the Ryanair Stayers Liverpool Hurdle according to trainer Harry Fry.
A warm order for the three-mile championship hurdling showpiece at last month’s Cheltenham Festival, the nine-year-old son of Sir Harry Lewis could only fill the minor placings behind Nichols Canyon and Lil Rockerfeller.
Fry has yet to make a decision on whether his charge will head to Aintree with the rumour mill suggesting that Yanworth, trained by Alan King, could also step up in trip for the three-mile event at Liverpool. Seventh at the Cheltenham Festival in the Champion Hurdle, Yanworth, along with Jezki, who disappointed in the Stayers’ Hurdle, are possibility for the three-mile event at Liverpool, conveying the possibility that Fry’s charge could join stable-mates Neon Wolf and American by heading to the Punchestown Festival which takes place later this month.
Fry, discussing where Unowhatimeanharry could end up, said:
He’s entered and we will be looking to run but we will see how the week pans out. I imagine ground will play a part and what other horses JP McManus has entered in the race and what he would like to run.
He has been fine. Obviously it is quite a quick turn around and no doubt a decision will be made nearer the time.
